Bring Them Down

Michael (Christopher Abbott) cuts a lonely figure tending his family’s sheep farm. He carries secrets and guilt from a grim tragedy in his youth while enduring his disabled father’s (Colm Meaney) taunts and demands. Michael’s ex, Caroline (Nora-Jane Noone) knows something of his pain, though she is now married to Gary (Paul Ready), a neighbouring farmer. When Caroline and Gary’s son Jack (Barry Keoghan) claims that two of Michael’s prize rams were found dead on his family’s property, it sets the families on a bitter and violent collision course. Evocatively filmed in the landscapes of Wicklow, Abbott and Keoghan offer electrifying performances in Christopher Andrews’ feature debut.
