To save a condemned 18th century mansion from demolition, a committed band of preservationists, actors, and filmmakers, inhabit the property, attempting to bring the building back to life by re-enacting scenes that they imagine once happened between its walls. Led by the hot-headed idealist director Lorcan (a reliably brilliant Barry Ward), the put-upon collective endures ego-driven demands for authenticity, history and endless rewrites. Awarded Best New Irish Feature at the Cork International Film Festival in 2023, Prospect House was shot on location in Enniscoe House, Mayo. It is a thrillingly inventive satire, taking on notions of creativity, conservation, conflict and consent.
