José Miguel Jiménez intimate documentary portrait follows Irish artist Amanda Cullen as she prepares for a retrospective of her work. Her painting is instinctive, expressive and free-flowing, beautiful patterns emerging after hours creating in isolation. Amanda knows plenty about isolation after suffering years of abuse and institutional oppression sanctioned by the Church of Ireland. In this context, Amanda displaying her work in galleries becomes entwined with her revealing her harrowing life story, art and creativity are wrapped up with the healing process and a fight for justice. - Michael Hayden
