Joe McNally lives in the rundown New Lodge estate in the centre of Belfast, known locally as The Flats. He is haunted by his memories of The Troubles, traumatised by violence, hunger strikes and the time he served in prison. Jolene Burns is a neighbour, a talented singer who lives with her own legacy of violence and tragedy. Recreating scenes from the past gives Joe, Jolene and others glimmers of catharsis, therapy and hope.
