The Swallow

On a desolate coast in County Clare, an unnamed character (Brenda Fricker) gathers wood for the fire and fumbles with seaweed. Her small house is cluttered with photos, paintings and writing, the gathered ephemera of a long life consumed by art. A letter to an anonymous correspondent is narrated, a meditation on memory, loss and poetry. Renowned filmmaker Tadhg O’Sullivan has established himself as a formally inventive documentarian and film essayist.
